- Principal drug information sources for russian physicians
V. Rafalski, I. Andreeva, O. Stetsiouk, Y. Belkova
Rational choice of medicinal products is a crucial in effective treatment of any disease, and appropriateness of prescriptions depends on the level of knowledge of medical professionals gained from various informational sources of different grade of evidence and up-to-dateness.
- Etiology and antimicrobial resistance of pathogens of skin and soft tissue infections in outpatients: Results of first prospective study in Russia
L.S. Stratchounski, J.A. Belkova, E.P. Cigankova, M.V. Sukhorukova, N.V. Ivanchik
Bacterial skin and soft tissue infections (SSTI) are one of the most common presentations in outpatients in dermatological and surgical practice. Etiological diagnosis of these infections is often uncertain since bacteriological tests are rarely done in routine practice. The treatment of SSTI is usually empiric, at least initially. However there are no currently available reliable data on antimicrobial resistance of causative pathogens in Russia. The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemiology and antimicrobial susceptibility of the most common bacterial pathogens in community-acquired SSTI.
- Use of antimicrobials in adult outpatients with peptic ulcer disease in Russia
N.N. Dekhnich, L.S. Stratchounski, V.T. Ivashkin, T.L. Lapina, V.I. Simanenkov, N.V. Zakharova, A.V. Tkatchev, R.A. Abdulhakov, N.N. Nikolaeva, M.F. Osipenko
Up to 10% of the world population has peptic ulcer disease (PUD). Morbidity from PUD in Russian Federation in 2003 was 1,268 cases on 100,000 inhabitants and has not decreased during the last 5 years. In spite of significant progress in the treatment of PUD in general, in Russia this problem is still far from its solution that leads to the high frequency of gastro-duodenal bleedings, ulcer perforations and surgical manipulations. The study “Ulcer” was designed to evaluate the real practice of administration of antimicrobials and other drugs in adult outpatients with peptic ulcer disease in Russia.
- Antibiotics in pregnancy: Pharmacoepidemiology study of the antibiotic prescription in Russia
R.A. Tchilova, A.I. Ischenko, V.V. Rafalskiy
To evaluate the current clinical practice of prescription of antimicrobials in pregnancy women with infection diseases in Russia and estimate the safety of their use.
- Antimicrobial resistance among nosocomial Acinetobacter baumannii from Russian Intensive Care Units
G. Reshedko, A. Farashchuk, E. Ryabkova, E. Strachunskaya
Emergence of Acinetobacter baumannii as one of the most important nosocomial pathogens in Intensive Care Unit (ICUs) patients has been observed worldwide. Antimicrobial resistance of this microorganism is a matter of special concern. Thus the objective of our study was to evaluate the antimicrobial resistance in nosocomial A.baumannii from Russian ICUs.
- Antimicrobial resistance in gram-negative pathogens isolated from patients with nosocomial lower respiratory tract infections in Intensive Care Units
G. Reshedko, E. Ryabkova, E. Strachunskaya, RosNet Group
To evaluate antimicrobial resistance in gram-negative pathogens of nosocomial lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) in patients from Russian Intensive Care Units (ICUs).
- Relationship between use of antimicrobials in orphanages and pneumococcal resistance: Is a story so simple?
R.S. Kozlov, I.V. Gudkov, O.U. Stetsiouk, James A. Poupard, L.S. Stratchounski
S.pneumoniae from children from orphanages are more resistant in comparison with clinical strains and those from day-care centers. A study was designed to evaluate possible influence of antimicrobials on resistance in strains from orphanages in geographically distinct Russian cities.
